Weather Update

UPDATE: OK, ok... It's 11pm. We've been below freezing for a couple of hours, now.

Current reading: 29.9°F.

Just took the PeteyMan (pictured below, with Hedgehog, shortly afterwards) out for his late night wuz and had a good laugh at how completely befuddled he was. Everything was frozen: the driveway, every blade of grass, little pellets on the patio from dripping water (not frozen) splashes... Completely unidentifyable frozen stuff was falling from the sky... Thus the term: wintry mix...

It's looking like I get to sleep in on a Wednesday, cause it'll take awhile for that frozen sheet of ice to thaw from the driveway.

Despite local news claims of impending ice doom, we've been hovering at 34°F most of the day. Absent from one particular local new weathercast (where sensationalism is an ethos) were temperature readings from Richardson, Plano, Frisco and points east where I suspect temps wern't low enough to stir fear in the hearts of soccer moms. No, only the locales with freezing temps were given. Also, the radar was dialed way up to reflect freezing "mist", making the radar look very pink (green=rain, pink=freezing rain, white=snow, etc.). Yep, that pink blanketed Newberry Drive. If it's misting outside, it's magical mist that I can't see or feel.

We're down to 33.7°F.
